Just a reminder to be sure and generate some RF during the Solar Eclipse QSO
party:

http://www.hamsci.org/seqp-rules

Even if you don't plan to make any QSO's, it would generate some interesting
data if you would periodically get on and send TEST DE _____ in CW or
digital.
These signals will be picked up by skimmers and should show any propagation
effects from the eclipse. 160 or 80 would be particularly interesting, I
think. If you make QSO's, the exchange is signal report and six-character
grid square.

I'll be operating, probably on 40 meters, from Hastings, NE, EM00to. I'll try
to configure a dipole perpendicular to the eclipse path, and possibly also
make some noise on 15 or 6 meters. I don't plan on making many two-way QSO's,
but I will try to regularly send a transmission of TEST DE W0IS on CW. If
possible, I'll send one during totality. I have a summary of what I'll be
doing at my blog, along with a link to follow me on the Reverse Beacon
Network:

One thing I noticed on the rule page is that they are suggesting CQ SEQP.
However, unless they have reconfigured RBN for the event, I'm not sure if
that
will work. As far as I know, RBN, allows only one word between "CQ" or "TEST"
and your call sign. So it will pick up CQ SEQP W0IS or CQ DE W0IS or TEST DE
W0IS. But as far as I know, it won't pick up CQ SEQP DE W0IS. So I recommend
sending CQ TEST, or just TEST, or leaving off the DE if you call CQ SEQP.

Rick W0IS
