[NLRS] Planning a Space Station Contact

Hello!

I've been thinking of pitching the idea to my son's school (Roseville Area
Middle School, and/or other schools in the district) the idea of hosting an
ARISS contact with the International Space Station. More information is
available at:

http://www.arrl.org/hosting-an-ariss-contact

The next window for submitting proposals begins in February, and I believe the
actual contact would be scheduled for next fall. Before I contact the school,
I'd like to know if there is interest in the ham community in helping out,
since I would need both equipment and expertise.

The station requirement is basically a 50-100 watt 2 meter FM station, with a
14 element Yagi with computer controlled rotors for azimuth and elevation.
They also recommend a second backup station with an omniderectional antenna.
The full recommendations are at this link:

The one ARISS contact I took a small part in used an antenna mounted on a
trailer, which would be ideal. Would anyone be interested in taking part in
such a project?

Rick W0IS
