I will be on from my home QTH in EN24gp IF Xcel energy fixes their frikking
power line issue out here that wipes me out from east to south... 6m 100
watts to a 6m5xhp @ 30 feet, 2m 750 watts to 4x2m12 @30 if the wind isn't
howling, otherwise they will be down at 20 feet , 70cm 50 watts to 4329wl @
35 feet. If I get the time to finish the 222 transverter and build a quickie
quad or something I might be on that band to probably fixed east into MPLS.
222 will depend on gardening etc...

At Dayton, Matt (K0BBC), Dave (W0ZF), and I were thinking about putting
together a rover pack to do the Winsted corner (EN24, EN34, EN25, EN35), and
possibly other places as well (Summit, SD?). We are trying to recruit some
newer hams from the Bloomington club to join us for the operation, and they
might bring their own (probably FM-only) rover or join us as second
operators.
The three of us bought 223 MHz FM handhelds at Dayton, so we are now all on
that band with at least a little bit of capability (and given the quality of
the radios, possibly on a few other bands too!). For
2.4 GHz, we are planning to use the mesh networking WiFi gear, and use it to
do no-digipeat point-to-point links, where we can then chat via a web app.
It's ugly, but it's two new bands for two of us, translating to lots of
points after grid circling.
I would think that a rover pack trip to somewhere near the Mississippi River
(RV04) would be quite possible. The 3-fer at Ice Age Trail/Ice Age
Scientific Reserve/St. Croix River over in St. Croix Falls, WI, is not a
great spot for VHF/UHF-only operation: it's part-way down into the valley,
with a lot of visitor traffic in and around the intersection point.
My operation is likely to be rover one day (Saturday?) and operate from home
the other, but I'm open to crazy plans (e.g. stay near Fargo Saturday night,
then down I-29 to I-90 and back to the Cities).

maps are again showing me that my color monitor is actually working, so it
must be time for the ARRL's June VHF contest. The contest begins 1800 UTC
Saturday June 11 and runs through 0259 UTC Monday June 13. Full rules for
this fun summer time event can be found at http://www.arrl.org/june-vhf .
The pending Memorial Day weekend can be a good time to work on your rover or
fixed station.

through 10 GHz. My routes and plans are tbd but plans are to optimize the
fun factor. What is everyone else up to ? How about a NPOTA meets June
VHF contest operation, try some simple roving or portable operations for the
first time, or add a new band.
