Hello Gentlemen

Reminder the net begins at 8 PM CST. I will look toward Ks for 10 minutes
before the net

so you guys don't have to wait a full hour for me to cover 360 degrees.

It's been pretty quiet to the east lately. WA8MOA in en71 checks in
regularly and now and then KU8Y, KB8GUE and W9SOL

But nobody else. VE3ZV is workable by me on CW and Kenny N9IYV on SSB. I
look straight east at about 8:15 CST 9 PM EST.

N9EM and I went to Dave's house KC9CLm. He graciously donated a HV
transformer and other parts for John's amp. N9EM.

Dave KC9CLM's dad a ham, passed away leaving Dave a treasure trove of parts
and equipment I would have killed for 50 years ago.

I think his dad must have been licensed about when I was in the mid 1950's.

Dave is looking for an amp in the 200-400 watt category for 144 and 432. Can
someone help him? His email is kc9clm at yahoo.com <mailto:kc9clm at yahoo.com> .

He's enthusiastic, smart and a great member of our gang. Somebody help him
out please.

Here's what he wrote to me;

"Steve,

Wasn't there someone on the net that was building some higher power bricks
for 432? I might contact him and see if I can work something out. I'm really
only looking for 200 or 300 watts. Saw a bad TE Systems 200 watt amp on the
internet for a fair price. Hell, I've bought broken/burnt up stuff before
and just fixed it and used it. The 432 and 2 meter amps I have now I fixed
and have been using for some time. Plus the Ameritron AL 811, (my back-up
amp) that I'm using now was a wreck when I bought it for $100.00. Never seen
finals that were literally melted before. Think I saved them for a
conversation piece!

Now I need to find out why my main amp doesn't want to load properly on 80
and 160 meters. The fellow I got it from only used it on 10 thru 20 meters.
I'm hoping it's just a dirty band switch or fixed caps .

Dave"

Thanks guys

73

Steve N4PZ
