I would have thought the TS-590S operation manual would have described
the connections but it leaves it to the maker of the transverter. I've
searched on line and the question you asked is asked but not really
answered.
Fundamentally it appears you will need to have a transverter with
separate RX and TX IF connections, connect the transverter TX to the RCA
jack and the transverter RX to separate 590 receiver antenna jack. Then
to control the combination you will need a sequencer so the transverter
and its relays get switched to transmit mode before the 590S is keyed.
At CSVHF K5QE talked for an hour on the sequencer topic last week. There
probably is an external PTT input on one of the control connectors and
probably a PTT output for the linear, but many a transceiver puts out RF
before the internal relay keys the PTT output and that can fry the
transverter RX side unless its well protected which it can be, and then
makes the antenna relay switch with RF power applied that burns its
contacts.
Many transverters use the same coax connection for the IF in and out,
and can be wired to take a +12 on that coax to key the transverter. That
often takes a modification inside the IF rig to make that work.
Generally a wire and a RF choke connecting the TX+ 9 or +12 in the IF
rig to the connector. I have a Tentec transverter that detects RF power
on the IF port to key the transverter. I don't think Tentec ever made a
222 transverter.
