[NLRS] W0IS Rover Plans

I plan to do an extremely limited rover operation on Saturday afternoon. This
will also be a NPOTA activation of the Mississippi National River & Recreation
Area (RV04). For NPOTA, I need 10 QSO's to qualify as an activation, so if
activity is low, I do have a couple of requests.

I plan to operate both CW and SSB on 432. If you can, please work me on both,
even if it doesn't count for two QSO's in the contest. (And I'm unclear on
whether it does.) I'll plan on calling on or near 432.120. I'm running 5
watts to a squalo on the car.

I also have a handheld for 220, so I will be on 223.5. I'll probably go there
after 432 so you'll know where to point the antenna. If you are able to work
me on 220, I would also appreciate an additional QSO on 146.52, even though
that doesn't count for the contest. I don't have an antenna for 220, so I'll
just be using the rubber duck. If you can hear me at all, make a long call,
and I should be able to move to a sweet spot.

I'll probably start at about 4:00 PM Saturday. My first stop for EN34 will be
near Summit Avenue at the parking lot overlooking the river.

I'm not sure where I'll go for EN35. If I still need more QSO's to make my
10, I'll find another spot near the river, probably in Northeast Minneapolis.
If there's enough activity that I think I can make 10 QSO's from the
Stillwater area, I will go to the St. Croix River (WR09) and do EN35 from
there.

If anyone else is roving, I encourage you to make one stop within 100 feet of
either the Mississippi or St. Croix Rivers. If you make 10 QSO's and upload
to LOTW, you will qualify as an activator for this event. In fact, I think my
spot in St. Paul near Summit Avenue has a view of downtown Mpls., and it would
be cool to have a 10 GHz activation for NPOTA.

I'll be signing W0IS/R, but please note that when I upload to LOTW, it will be
as W0IS, in case you need the NPOTA credit. However, for my purposes, it's
not necessary for anyone else to upload the contact.

73,
Rick W0IS
