Hello NLRS land -
Don't forget this weekends UHF contest, 222 and up, Aug 6-7 running 1800z Saturday to 1800z Sunday. Yes, its just 24 hours, so don't show up Sunday night ! You can find the link to the full rules as well as to the W0UC activity page on the www.nlrs.org website front page. Check it out. Note that the rover scoring is the old rover rules plus self spotting is allowed. W0ZQ/R plans to be out and about somewhere, 222 through 10GHz. Please post any plans that you have on the W0UC activity planner; the link to it is at www.nlrs.org .
Do we want to schedule an activity time for uW's off of downtown during the contest, perhaps 11am to 1pm on Sunday? Input/comments welcomed.
Switching gears, I had a great time at the CSVHFS conference in Rochester. Donn and his team did a superb job. There were some hotel registration hiccups that cause problems for some people and the conference team is working with the hotel to try to minimize those pains. The weather was perfect, the 10GHz EME demo was awesome and the turn out for rover and dish row was something to see. Perhaps Jim and others can give us a short update on all those who participated there. From NLRS land (and its adjoining regions) W9FZ, W0ZQ, WB9BZK, N0AKC, and KM0T are current and previous CSVHFS Directors. To this group we welcom K0SIX, W9XA and K9PW as new Directors, so you can see that the NLRS and its adjoining region is well represented on board. The Chairman positions was passed on from myself to Doug Sharp, K2AD, who was last years Denver conference President. Looking forward, our new 2017 President is Brian Mileshosky, N5ZGT, who is also the ARRL's 2nd Vice President. Next years conference, with Brian's leadership, will be held in Albuquerque, NM.
73, Jon
