Thanks to NR0T and W0ZF for waiting around to work me last night. Between
running the bands and modes with them, and a few contacts on 40 CW, I managed
to make my 10 QSO's in a half hour.

Also, thanks to K0AWU for trying to make an impossible QSO with my 5 watts and
squalo. I heard someone sending my call in very weak CW while I was driving,
and I'm about 99% sure that it was him. It encouraged me to put together some
kind of beam for future roves!

If you haven't yet done any NPOTA operations, please check it out. If you
like operating as a rover or doing field day style operations, this is an
opportunity to do it any time you want, and have an almost immediate pileup.
We have four "National Parks" in the Twin Cities, since operating from within
100 feet of either the Mississippi or St. Croix rivers qualifies as a park.
In addition, Interstate State Park in Wisconsin (but not Minnesota) is
actually an affiliated unit of the National Park Service, and the Ice Age
Trail that starts at that park is also a "National Park" for purposes of this
event.

Most activity so far is on 40 and 20 meters, but there's no reason you can't
run VHF. In the June contest, I suspect you could get a lot of QSO's from
non-contesters by operating from one of the parks.

TNX & 73,
Rick W0IS
