[NLRS] W9HQ/R was a bust for 222 Sprint

I got to the St. Charles grid convergence last night in perfect time to get
everything in place. Started CQing right at 7:00 pm from EN33 as planned
and heard nothing. I CQed for a while, turning the antenna and still
nothing.

I began to suspect that I had some hardware problem. I checked all the
antenna connections and everything seemed fine. The transverter was
showing power output on its display. But I was not hearing increased
background noise when cycling power to the 'verter. So I figured something
was wrong. About 7:30 I packed it up, checked out the rest of the grids at
that convergence for another day, and headed for home.

Oh well, I tried.

Seems like interest in this sprint was pretty low. But it sounded like
there was more interest for the 432 sprint next week. I'm planning on being
on that air from the home QTH for that one -- hope there are still some
rovers going out.

73,

David W9HQ, non-rover again
