[NLRS] An attractive amplifier for 6 meters

Hmm, I would check to verify its one that he modified, and also that its
tuned correctly. I gave mine a slight tweak when I tested it, was easily
getting 300w but I didn't push it any harder as my dummy load that I have
right now is 100w continuous rated or 300w max at short intervals. The
other thing I found is the power supply rating he advertises is not exactly
true, at least on this unit, at 48v it draws about 15 amps at 300w output.
I found however that at 50v I can get 300w out with the 11-12 amps as
advertised.
The other problem I encountered is my 48v supply is only capable of 15 amps,
so at 300w it was working it hard and the voltage was starting to sag around
45-46 volts. But I have an old redundant server supply that’s rated for 50v
at 25 amps and that will run it all day long at 300w output and draws around
11-12 amps, the old analog meter wiggles a bit and I didn’t grab my digital
meter to get an exact reading.
The main reason I havent done anything with this yet is I wanted to have
some time to properly design a chassis to mount it in and put fans on it,
along with repairing my 1kw dummy load. Is it winter yet??

I guess maybe I spoke too soon -- I just this evening fired mine up for the
first time this evening and unfortunately I'm only getting about 150 watts
out for 7 watts in. That's pretty far short of the advertised gain.
