I'll have my cell phone on for the weekend, 515-338-0471 otherwise its
usually only turned on to originate calls. Most of the sites I have
checked recently (about 25 found usable or better) have views to the
hill and to the north west and I'd like to work the rovers out there
occasionally.
I could use numbers for WB0LJC and N0UK for setting up skeds.
I plan to start at EN32CK and run south to EN32BE, then west and north
back to US20 then mostly west on US-20 deviating a few miles north and
south to good sites until nearly west to US-71 then north to Storm Lake
for a couple sites in line with IA-7. I'll probably drive 125 miles home
Saturday evening and start west on Sunday morning from the vicinity of
US69 and IA 3 and work my way west near IA 3 and IA 7. If propagation is
not good enough for these 150 to 180 mile paths I will head further
north near US18. If I run the planned sites, headings from the hill will
be 183 to 215 degrees true. Almost 90 degrees from the headings to
Buffalo Ridge rovers. My August 2014 far north Iowa sites started well
east of I-35 and went to Algona.
Sunday on 2m during the VHF contest W0GHZ said he planned to be on the
hill both days for 10G.
Some of the Saturday early morning and late afternoon paths will be
tough for Greg and his 15 dBi horn, but he worked similar distances last
month.
