[NLRS] [BC'ers] My Amp

Oops I meant to say I have a pair of the VHF knockoffs in a 2-417, not the
646 obviously.

I do have a pair of the chinese 646's in a 4-110 however, output is around
120w with 10w drive, the driver is the original however and putting out
about 45w to feed the 646's.

I have another 4-110 that I removed the driver from so it could be driven
directly instead of having to only give it 10w. That’s a pretty easy
conversion as well.

That's what I think though it could be the switch. Miniature
electrolytics don't have long lives, less when not used.

TE systems claims to have technical support, though its not on line:

The capacitor is probably hooked to the base of the relay driver
transistor that had base drive from the RF input. My Diawa amp chatters
but the book on it says its expected and so the amp should be hard keyed
for SSB.

I don't know the pin out of the TE amp, but I have used external amps
and converters with my FT-736r and used that DIN port to run logic for
them and it worked well. As I recall there is one wire per band for TX
and then a wire for switching a remote preamp.
