A couple weeks ago we had a guest speaker at our monthly club meeting here in Winona that talked about the awards program for the ARRL.
Mike - W0VTT a somewhat local guy in EN33 spoke of all the awards the league offers and how to go after them. The end
of his talk was focused on Logbook of the World (Lotw). I thought to myself - heck I have thousands of contacts why not look at getting
some credit for them? Before the end of the meeting I had Mike as one of the three card checkers in Minnesota look at VUCC credit
for me on two of the higher bands. I quickly received enough credits for VUCC on 3.4 and 10Ghz.

After writing a big check for some more wallpaper in the shack I thought about Logbook of the World. I have been making contacts
for over twenty six years now and probably qualify for awards that I was not even looking at. I went to the site at:
https://lotw.arrl.org/cgi-bin/lotw_page_auth/default

Registration was painless for the most part and the waiting for passwords and authentication was right at the minimum. After uploading
a few of my recent HF logs I was quickly given credit for several new DXCC countries! Of course my heart is in the bands of VHF plus so
I quickly loaded some of my logs for the higher bands and received credit for new grids on six as well as a new grid on 3cm (tnx to W9FZ/R in EN45)!

I am in the process of adding additional locations for my call and working on loading my logs from my former call signs in Lotw.

I highly encourage anyone to look at Lotw for VHF plus contacts. It is incredibly easy to do and can be a huge thrill to see that new grid
confirmed from nine years ago or more.

Pse check it out and good luck :)

Matt - KF0Q
