I'm a technical adviser to the Collins Radio Association
http://www.collinsra.com/ and the head of the group may have some parts
and units for sale.
The early August Cedar Rapids hamfest had lots of Collins gear. I expect
the Davenport hamfest a week from Sunday to have quite a bit too. Its at
the Clarion hotel on North Brady (US61) Nov 1, 8 to noon or so. I might
be there.
The speaker by itself was a 312B-3 and the housing often held a
516F-2 power supply. A 312B-4 Station Control held a watt meter and
phone patch with the speaker. A 312B-5 held those and an external PTO
for split frequency operation. A relatively expensive accessory even
back then. I made my own power supply for my 32S-1. I bought a new
75S-3B when I worked at Collins in Cedar Rapids and it spent at least a
year out of the cabinet on my operating table as
I worked out what I though were bugs and made several modifications that
made it handier and to have a greater tolerance of strong signals. The
original speaker in the cabinet was 5 x 7 oval. The 1964 price list also
shows a 399C-1 speaker with PTO for the KWM-2.
Barry Beaulow W0IY barry.buelow at gmail.com has a kit for updating the
516F-2 with new filter
capacitors, solid state rectifiers, and a power relay to make the power
switch on KWM-2 and 32S-1 mode switch survive eons longer.
