Carl,
Check out the XT-4 beacon keyer for $30 at
http://www.unifiedmicro.com/beacon.html
Also K1EL makes good stuff. Check out their K16 for around $8 for the chip or $20 for the kit at
http://k1el.tripod.com/K16.html

Subject: [NLRS] Working memory keyer for sale?
Does anyone have a working MFJ memory keyer that they would like to sell? My
old MFJ-492 memory keyer, used for my 2 mtr beacon, was taken out by lightning
several months ago. Since that time I purchased one used 492 (didn’t work), and
I am now returning my 3rd (and final) new 492 to DX engineering. All three of
them are defective. I talked to DX Customer Support and sounds like they
probably are no longer going to be carrying the 492 since they have experienced
a very high rate of return/defective on the units.
My 15 (?) year old one
worked fine, but apparently the QC is now non-existent. So, if you have a
memory keyer that works and you no longer are using it, I’d love to purchase it
so I can get my beacon back on the air.
