NEW
Jon has a bad rotor on his 2m and 432 antennas. If someone is planning on coming to the
Antenna Range that could climb his tower and swap out the bad rotor for a new one, it
would be greatly appreciated. It shouldn't be too hard: loosen the rotor clamp, jack up
the mast, clamp it, swap the rotor, lower the mast and clamp it to the new rotor. There
should be lots of ground crew to help, but I don't climb (or even go on the roof anymnore)
so it needs to be someone else.
Thanks... its appreciated !
The Antenna Range make-up session will be at the QTH of Jon, K0FQA on Saturday, 30
May. (See below for directions.)
Starting about 0900 and lasting until.... Lunch when we can (maybe noon-ish) and finish
up when we're
done. Bring your own picnic lunch (I'll bring a grill if you need to cook dogs or what.
Just like we used to do in Mounds Park ! )
As for Aurora, PLEASE let me know ahead of time (like, by Thursday, 28 May) what
bands you'll have antennas for testing. If there's no notification for a
given band, I won't necessarily have the equipment for it. (ex: nobody says they're bring
1296, I won't bring the signal generator for that.)
There is room for a mini-flea market if you've got stuff to sell or trade. Jon has a lot
of interesting stuff (as in a pole barn's worth !) that he may have available also, so it
might be
worth the trip just for that.
Jon's QTH is on Genereux Pl, in the SW corner of Rogers. Exit I-94 at Rogers and take
Main St south through downtown Rogers about 1-1/4 miles to Territorial Rd (Cty 116). Its
a 'T' intersection, with a STOP sign. Impossible to miss. Turn right (west) and go about
1/4 mile to Genereux Pl. Turn right again (north) and Jon's is the last house on the
left.
Hope to see you there.
