Jon I would like to submit John Fox for the Wesslund Award. As you know
John is now in a nursing home in Forest Lake MN and I believe that he is
deserving of this award for 60 years of promoting VHF/UHF operating in the
Minnesota and surrounding states. John was a member and officer of the
Northstar VHF society.

This was one of the original Clubs that promoted VHF operating and had a
membership and attendance of around 300 people at our annual banquet that
was held in Elk River. MN. John also was an original member of Project Oscar
which preceded Amsat. John was one of the Command Station of Oscar 10 Phase
3B.

John worked 47 of the lower 48 states on Meteor Scatter before there was
computer assisted methods available. John only needed Nevada and ran many
skeds with K7ICW without success. John has not been active over the past few
years due to health issues, but I do not know of anyone in this area who has
been consistently active on 2 and 432 more than John was over the years. He
Hold the record with W2AZL for the first Meteor Scatter QSO on 432 Mhz.

I am sure if I really sat back and thought about it I could add many more
things to this list of John's accomplishments over his Amateur Radio Career.

Thank for your consideration
