And please, don't forget to consider phase noise performance of the TX as well, it might not matter if the beacon is never stronger than S5 or so, but phase noise can be very noticeable well over 100 kHz away if the beacon's signal is bone crushing and its phase noise levels are high.

When making a beacon, make sure you incorporate
some shaping into the CW
keying waveform
otherwise you will have a wideband garbage generator
throwing "key clicks" all over the
band.
