Hello BCers and NLRSers,

It's a little over one week to go until next Tuesday's deadline to submit
logs for the 2015 ARRL UHF Contest (September 1 @ 1800Z).

As of my last check this morning, there are 148 logs on the Logs Received
report. There are 45 calls on the 3830scores.com web page (which IS more
than last year), 41 of which match calls on the Logs Received report so
that suggests at least four more logs that might be submitted.

By club names, it looks like the Pacific NorthWest VHF Society really
rallied their members to participate as they lead with 15 of the 148
showing their club's name. The North East Weak Signal (NEWS) Group is
next with 10 logs. Locally, Northern Lights Radio Society is third with
eight logs and Badger Contesters are fourth with seven logs. I've not
asked N6NB directly, but I don't think any of the SCCC's members used
and operated any of Wayne's toolboxes this year.

Members of the Packrats (Mt. Airy VHF Radio Club) don't seem to agree on
the proper 'spelling' of their club name with three different spellings
among the three logs from their members; they ended up with 12 logs
last year so I hope there are more logs coming from the Packrats rather
than their membership having taken a vacation from this year's UHF test.

THANKS to all who participated in this year's UHF Contest. SPECIAL
thanks to those who have already submitted their logs (and those who will
submit before the deadline).

The 2015 log count is already ahead of the recent low log count of 142
from 2011, and should end up in the area of recent year's total counts
(156 in 2013 and last year's 166).

Also, since I will be writing the results article (2015 will be my 11th
year), I invite any comments about conditions, activity (even pictures)
to mention/incorporate in the article.

Finally, and possibly repeating information you've already seen, the ARRL's
Ad Hoc Subcommittee on VHF and Above Revitalization is seeking input,
suggestions, ideas regarding participation (ideally, EXPANSION thereof) in
the UHF Contest. It's 5 questions, of which two hopefully won't apply to
most of those who I am directing this reflector posting. Details at:
http://www.arrl.org/news/committee-asks-for-august-uhf-contest-suggestions

Please review and, if you ARE so inclined, respond to the committee's
questions (via the committee's e-mail address) by October 1.

73, JK
