So the bad news first. I have lost my log from the first weekend. I remember cleaning up the shack two weeks ago and it appears that I tossed it then. Lesson learned. So I will submit a one weekend paper log and note on the summary sheet that it does not include any Q's from the first weekend. I don't think that this will have a NIL result for those that I did work and who submit first weekend logs as I don't think that they do much log checking anyway. I'd rather send in a partial log with comments that shows activity then no log at all.
Now the good news. 10 GHz is lots of fun. The first weekend I operated from Buck Hill, EN34ir. Many thanks to my fellow Buck Hillites and those roving.
The second weekend I operated as a rover with K0CQ and WB0LJC. We had light rain at the start on Saturday and never really had any good propagation the whole weekend. A cold front was pushing through that produced some erratic, and mostly bad, conditions. We had one stop at about 200km from Buck Hill that was completely shut down. It was at this time that we had some interesting low cloud formations that sort of looked like waves, or mountains from afar. Despite the less than stellar conditions I managed 100 Q's, 15 unique, for a total score of 25,792 points, all while seeing some beautiful spots in Iowa. Best DX was 328 km with W0GHZ (EN22go to EN34lx). We also had several Q's from several stop in the 300 to 320 km range with W9FZ/KA9VVQ. Although I had one 47 GHz Q in the first weekend, I am indicating 10 GHz Only in my log.
73, Jon
