It looks like the weatherman is cooperating in this Saturday's antenna
razing project at my home. We plan to get started on Saturday 09/06/14 at
about 2 PM, and my wife is providing a home-cooked dinner at 5 or 6 or
whenever we are ready for it.
So far, I have firm committments from Ray Johnson and Chris Elmquist.
Several other folks (and possibly their significant others) were on the
fence at last report.
I'd like to firm up the list of who's coming so my wife can plan the proper
amount of food.
I won't need a huge crowd. The rooftop tower (a 9-footer -- RT936) has two
antennas I am keeping (902 and 1296 loopers) and 6 antennas that are being
given away (all 6 are already spoken for) that need to come down, then the
tower itself which is simply bolted to the roof of the garage. One person
in the garage attic and one person on the garage roof can umbolt it from
the roof and then pass it down to the ground where I can decide whether to
split it in half (simple unbolting process, after all it came in a box
originally and I had to assemble it) for transport or keep it in one piece.
If I don't get around to it myself before Saturday, and if we have time,
then we can pull down the 3 verticals and three horizontal loop antennas
also (those 6 are "keepers" also). But they all need to come down before we
leave for Texas, whether or not we get a buyer before we leave town or not.
See you then! And thanks to my volunteers!
