[NLRS] Central States VHF Society 2014 Conference

Hello NLRS land -

The 48th annual Central States VHF Society conference will be held July 24 - 27 in Austin, Texas.  Full information can be found at http://www.csvhfs.org/2014conference/index.html .   

Here are some conference highlights:

* There will be a Thursday evening dinner cruise on Lady Bird Lake featuring a stop at sunset at the Congress Avenue bridge where crowds gather nightly to watch up to 1.5 million Mexican Free-Tailed bats shoot out from under the bridge.

* The two lunch time speakers are K5SDR (Flex Radio) an W6PQL (Klitzing Electronics).
* The Saturday night banquet speaker is W6JKV 
* There is a Rover Row, Antenna Range, NF measurement, and vendor display.
* Friday night flea market.
* The Friday and Saturday night hospitality suite where lots of planning takes place !
* An OUTSTANDING family program (see the website).

 I encourage all those in NLRS land to attend as it promises to be an exceptional conference.  Bring yourself or bring your family.  Note that the conference website also provides an Austin area tourst link.  I hope to see you there.

PS:  If you are attending please stay at the conference hotel (Austin Marriott South) as its your patronage that supports the conference itself.  To conduct such a conference the Society makes a commitment to the hotel for the number of room nights and if the contract is not fulfilled there is a cost penalty back to the Society.
