Hello NLRS land -
Starting on January 29 at 0000 UTC and running through February 4 at 2359 UTC Minnesota will be hosting the call W1AW/0 as a part of the ARRL's year long Centennial QSO Party. Full information can be found at http://www.arrl.org/centennial-qso-party .
For this pending week any operator in the State of Minnesota may use the W1AW/0. That means you. Please see the information provided by the MWA on their W0AA website at http://w0aa.org/ for more information about how to operate and log. Spread sheets that show planned activity for this pending week can be found at http://sdrv.ms/1dSbef5 .
If you are interested in using W1AW/0 on HF, drop a note to Bill, AC0W at mnw1aw at charter.net .
If you are interested in using W1AW/0 on VHF, I'm the guy you need to talk to. On VHF+, W1AW/0 is open for terrestrial modes on all days except for 2/1 0000 UTC to 2/2 2359 UTC. Satallite mode has been spoken for. EME is open for the entire week, no one has asked to use W1AW/0 on EME. If you would like to use W1AW/0 during this pending week, drop me an email so that I can reserve the time slot & mode for you.
This is a unique opportunity to use the Old Mans call, W1AW/0 and I hope we can use W1AW/0 on some unique VHF+ bands and modes during this one week time period.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
