The upper Midwest weather stations are showing strong inversions on their Skew-T charts. There are a number of weather sites that provide access to such data, here is one: http://weather.cod.edu/analysis/ . On the Skew-T charts notice the strong break to the right for temperature with a corresponding break to the left for dew point. Warm dry air aloft over cooler wet air sometimes equals tropo. The Hepburn maps are not showing significant enhancement (http://www.dxinfocentre.com/tropo.html) but maybe their update that comes out later today will show improvement. None the less, perhaps there may be some regional tropo, especially on Saturday. Be interesting to try the uW bands to see if there is improved propagation.
