Hello NLRS land -
By now you all know about the ARRL Centennial event. Our ability to use the W1AW/0 call sign is returning to Minnesota for the week running from 7 PM Tuesday June 10 up to 7:00 PM Tuesday June 17. You can read about this fun event, as well as learn about how to schedule time to use W1AW/0 yourself, on the MWA website at http://w0aa.org/ .
I will be coordinating the usage of W1AW/0 on 50 MHz and up. I have divided the VHF usage into three VHF modes; terrestrial, satellite, and EME. This means that someone can run with W1AW/0 on EME while someone else is using it on 6m terrestrial at the same time, etc, etc. The terrestrial mode is further divided into the following five bands; 6m, 2m, 222, 432, and 902 and up. You will be able to select operating times down to one hour resolution.
Regarding the June VHF contest (1800 utc June 14 to 0259 utc on June 16), W0VB has tentative plans to use W1AW/0 as a multi-op station on 6m and 2m. If this plan changes the time slot and bands will re-open. Note that the other band slots (222, 432, and 902+), and VHF modes (EME and Satallite) are open.
If you would like to use W1AW/0 on VHF+ please send me your VHF+ requests now. Your request needs to include the followng information:
1. Your call
2. What date(s) you would like to reserve
3. What time(s) you would like to reserve. (Example, 8 PM to 11 PM)
4. What mode (terrestrial, satellite, and/or EME). If terrestrial also include bands (6, 2, 222, 432, and/or 902+).
Make sure that you read the information about using W1AW/0 at the link referenced above. You will need to keep and submit an elog of all your W1AW/0 contacts .... logs go to Bill, AC0W.
73, Jon
