Hello !! The 2m Sprint last night was really a blast ! The beginning of the contest seemed to start out a bit 'slow' .... But as the evening wore on , local activity did pick-up considerably . I thought that for a Spring Sprint that the overall activity level / participation was very good . (Of course , I would have liked the farther reaching opening last last fall's Sprint and the accompanying extra QSO counts , but it is still kinda early up here tropo-wise .,..) My final tally was 28 QSOs by 17 Grids . Grids worked list is : EN04,07.08,22,24,25,33,34,35,36,43,44,45,52,53,54, and DN94 ..... As I am finding that doing some extra 'looking' around to my WEST and Northwest does "scare" up some of the less populated grids and makes it worth calling that way ( hint , hint to others ! ) ....Murphy did leave me alone again this time - EQUIPMENT here : TS2000X (Yep , 1296 is in Da house !! ), Homebrew GS35 halfwave cavity amp @ 1.5kw , homebrew 2 stage preamp
system and Ant is still single 2M12 at 50ft (aprox height) . Many Thanks to all for the fun + the QSOs !! 73s , Ron Bergantzel KA0RYT (EN35ct)
PS : QRP - QSO Award goes to Ed W0OHU in EN34as who was running 8 watts to 1/4 wave whip in his apartment window ! ( Again , testing the MDS level of my 144 mhz receive system - Thanks ED ! )
