Dave W0ZF and I went to the four corners, near Winstead, on Saturday.
The big deal for us was adding 222 MHz to the arsenal. I picked up a
Yaesu FT-736R this summer and it sounds good. Now we're a full four
pack limited rover.
Valerie K0VAL drove and I operated on Sunday as we went to the four
corners near Good Thunder and Beauford. Good path into the twin
cities and Western Wisconsin. After dinner, I worked a fellow rover
in Iowa.
Never got any openings on six, but, was glad people turned their rigs
on after dinner on Saturday and Sunday nights. Seemed activity picked
up around this time each day.
I have dreams of returning to Western South Dakota (and higher sunspot
numbers) in June 2014. DN85 is calling me back.
