Its this weekend running from 1800 UTC on Saturday to 0259 UTC on Sunday. Full rules at http://www.arrl.org/september-vhf . If you not able to play for the whole contest time period peak activity times tend to be at the start of the contest on Saturday, Saturday evening, Sunday morning, and then again Sunday evening.
W0UC has posted an activity page at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvU0R8d2qq2DdGVST0dBM3RmZHd4aUQyaGFkaFdCQ2c#gid=0 . You can also find the same link from the NLRS.org home page. Paul's page contains a sheet for fixed stations and one for rovers. Look along the bottom of his webpage for the corresponding tab. Post your plans there so that others can see the planned activity.
It does appears that there will be some rovers out and about. We need fixed stations on-the-air to give them some Q's. Nothing is more frustrating for a rover than to put in all that hard work and to not have anyone to work. So please take a look at the rovers listed on Pauls page and try to find some time in your weekend schedule to give them a Q or two. When you do that, also look around for other fixed stations too.
For the rovers, make sure to drag your feet when QSYing to other bands. For fixed stations, make sure that you tail end stations that are working the rovers so that the rover knows you are there. Rovers do not have ESP .... make some noise.
W0ZQ plans are still undetermined at this late date. I will post my plans later today or tomorrow. At a minimum I will be on from the home station, 6m through 3456, on Sunday. However, my "Plan A" is to get out and do some roving on Sunday, TBD.
Finally, do not forget the two new operating catagories; single-op three band and FM only. With the FM only catagory, for those in the big city, make some noise on the FM simplex channels too.
