I see searching for sources of vol and rf gain pots for the TR-751 that
you faced that about 5 years ago. Did you find a solution? I've been
soaking and exercising the vol pot all winter and it works a little.
Today I hooked it back up and find the RF gain and RIT pots are not
making contact at all. I can probably fix them with three resistors, but
the vol control would be handy to have adjustable.
Also the encoder (and I don't think its optical) sometimes jumps the
frequency backwards while turning clockwise. I'm having better results
with CRC 2-26 than with Deoxit slider lube from outside. I have added
some holes into the pots, but not yet into the encoder. I'm thinking of
adding some .1 caps across the .01 noise filters from the encoder to see
if that clears up most of the encoder problems.
Or was your solution an FT817?
