Hi Mel

The Johnson, MN beacon (KA0EWQ  144.277  EN15) is still "pounding" away. (About 200miles and through the local 450ft mountain) I am listening to it now as I write this. This beacon has been very reliable for many years. It was off the air only once that I knew of due to a 70+ mph straight wind event some years back.

The WD9BGA beacon used to be MUCH better copy here (338miles). It went inactive for a period 3 yrs or so ago. When it returned to the air it was NOT near as strong as it was originally. I exchanged emails shortly after its return with its "caretaker" and in the end felt very lucky to have it back. I used to be able to hear it all summer long in and out of the noise unless there was enhancement. Now I only hear it if the band is "really really good". After changing email providers I think I have lost the contact information for the caretaker. I think Gary W0GHZ hears it regularly, even now.

DX Beacons -- NT0V beacon 144.292.5, I never hear it unless the band is WIDE open but that is due more to the path through the forest and hills to the west. (254miles)

Same for VE4KQ/b 144.281 -- When the band is up, look for N0LL 144.293 EM09ow Kansas
