YES, we've exceeded the 2012 VHF participation and are well on our way to
matching the 2011 VHF participation. Only 3 more fixed stations and 2 more
rovers. There must be a few more stations that are "sitting on the fence"
just waiting for their opportunity to sign-on; now's the time! Click here to

Subject: [NLRS] "Dunk-a-Rover" challenge; sign-up now to participate - only
two (2) to go!

We're within only 2 fixed stations and 2 rovers of matching the June/2012
VHF participation and rapidly closing the gap!!!!!! Surely there are two
fixed and rover VHF stations sitting on the sidelines that can make the
difference. We haven't heard from: KC0IYT/R, WA0VPJ/R, N0DQS/R, K0GEM/R,
N0UK/R, K0HAC/R etc. Even if you're only going to do a few grids, SIGN-UP!
I can't speak for the other members of the VHF activity promotion team. But,
in order to up the level of challenge, I'll agree to be "ducked" into the
cold Lake Miltona (currently at 52 deg. according to the local fishermen)
"IF" you match last June's level of participation (as determined by the VHF
spreadsheet entries by 1 PM on Saturday June 8th). OK, so this must sound
nuts but, everyone needs to go all-out to make the June VHF contest a
success.
Vince, K0SIX (another VHF activity promotion team member) is challenging
everyone to work his special event group during their W0W EN48 grid
expedition. Check them out here: http://vhf-activity.blogspot.com/

What are you doing to support and promote VHF activity in the upper Midwest?
Don't sit on the fence. Make your intentions known. You will make a
difference!

June/2011 - 58 fixed and 13 rovers

June/2012 - 53 fixed and 9 rovers

June/2013 - 51 fixed and 7 rovers (as of 8 PM on 6/05/13)

You can sign up right now so, let's hear about your plans! Note that these
are our best estimates (not commitments) subject to change.

Where possible, please enter your 6-digit grid square. Here's a link to a
good, on-line grid square converter.

You're also encouraged to create some chatter on the reflectors so that
everyone realizes we'll be lighting up the VHF bands June 8th & 9th.

Note the activity hours: 1-3 and 7-10 PM on Saturday and 7-10PM on Sunday if
your time is limited.

"ROVING; some assembly (and batteries) required!"
