[NLRS] Need advice on rover stops for August UHF rove

Hi Dave.
Its been a few years, but I found several good locations in and around
Dodgeville. Not all are "close," but the driving is easy, with good
roads and pull-offs or such to set up in and operate from.

1) EN43 Cty ZZ east from WI23, approx. 5 mi north of Dodgeville. Go
east ~3 mi., past Dyson (?) Rd. A wide spot south of the road where
you can pull off. Park land to the south. (If you come to Pleasant
Ridge, you've missed it.)

2) EN42 South of Dodgeville ~1.5 miles. Turn west onto Lover's Lane
(dirt). Go around the corner and north to the high spot. Despite the
name, there's little traffic, so you can just pull over to the side
and operate.

3) EN42 In Dodgeville, at the Military Ridge Trail parking lot, maybe
1000' east of WI23 on Cty YZ. Not always useable due to being "full."

4) EN53 Brigham Mound County Park. Just east of Blue Mounds State
Park. Exit US18/US151 at Cty 'F' to Blue Mounds. Look for the signs
for Brigham Mound. The parking lot on the south side of the park
gives good access to the east through south to west (i.e., Chicago,
etc.) Trees more or less block access to the north and NW (i.e.,
Minneapolis_ :-( Cty F continues past Park to north side where
there's a driveway you could use for access to NW.

I don't recommend Blue Mounds State Park even though the Park is "ham
friendly" (the Superintendent is a ham) for two reasons: cost to get
in --not a problem if you have an annual pass-- and the dense foliage
all around the area at the top. 2m and 222 seem to be OK, but I never
had good luck with 432 or 1296 unless we were on top of one of the
Observation Towers.

I never found a "good" or even "fair" location for EN52. The land
drops off the "ridge" pretty quickly to the south and I never spent
much effort looking. Sorry. There is some "high ground" south of Mt.
Horeb along WI78 at Daleyville, ~1150' compared to ~1300 along
US18/US151. Take Cty A SW from WI78 just south of Daleyville. Never
used this, so you're on your own here. Good Luck.

Good Hunting.
