Sounds like fun Matt .... stay cool.   I do not expect a lot of 2m activity way out west, however you may want to reconsider your proposed 2m operating frequency.  144.255 is a long ways from where everyone is parked on 144.200.   I recommend that you hang out closer to this, say 144.220 or even 144.215.   My two bits.

Dave W0ZF and I are headed West, once again, to put the rare grids of
outh Dakota on the air.
ur focus is grid DN85 with excursions to DN84 DN95 DN94 on Saturday.
e'll spend Saturday night near the above grid square corner in Faith SD.
unday we'll head East on US 212 toward home covering grids DN85 DN95
N05 EN04 EN14 with possible side trips (midday Sunday) to EN15
nterstate 29 rest area and the grid square corner of
N24/EN25/EN34/EN35 near Winsted MN near the end of the contest.
