Hello all -
There will be a 10 GHz tune up gathering at the W0ZQ QTH starting at 10:00 AM, July 13. This is following NLRS breakfast which is in Richfield this month. The Richfield Old Country Buffet is about 6 miles, or 12 minutes, from the tune up location. If you have had some issues with your 10 gigs setup, this is an ideal opportunity to smoke out any issues before that ARRL UHF and 10GHz & Up contests.
PLEASE RSVP to me off reflector if you plan to attend so that we can get an approximate idea of how much work we are looking at.
Information:
Where: W0ZQ garage. 9512 Riverview Ave South, Bloomington MN, not too far from the Mall of America in east Bloomington just off of Old Shakopee Rd. Rain or shine.
When: Saturday, July 13, starting at 10:00 AM. We plan to be there for several hours.
What: 10 GHz tune up only. If successful, we may try other bands at a later date.
Tests: Donn/Gary and team have put together a data sheet to record testing results. Testing will include your IF rig (power, sensitivity, stability), transverter (same), any preamp NF & gain, insertion loss of cables and relays, and feed point return loss.
What to bring: Your full 10 gig system. Best if its partially disassembled so that the IF, the transverter, and the feedline/feedpoints can be independently tested. Also bring your manuals (IF rig, transverter) and any special tools you need to diddle with your system. Please use PowerPoles too.
Special note: We have several op's coming together and bringing their test equipment. Only those op's who are bringing their test equipment can operate their test equipment unless they deputize someone else. In other words, please keep your fingers off of other peoples test equipment unless you ask them first.
Lets use the driveway to load and unload, then find street parking.
As this is our first time in doing this, please bring your flexibility and understanding.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
See you at the 47th Central States VHF Society Conference, July 25–27, in Elk Grove Village, IL
