Yes, it was a great learning experience and we learned a lot! -
http://k0mhc.blogspot.com/
First, thanks to those who made it all possible:
- Dick, N5AND for the loan of a rotor
- Ken, K5UHF for the loan of an DC-AC power inverter
- Greg, K5GJ for the map of Hwy 281 rover stops
- Al, W5LUA for coordinating with NTMS operators

We felt we had good participation for our relatively low profile, "limited"
rove this year. There were several big gun stations who kept us awake as we
traveled 881 miles through 12 grids during the 33 hour contest period:
- Ron, K5LLL with 40 Qs from 11 out of 12 activated grids!
- Al, W5LUA with 23 Qs from 6 out of 12 grids
- Les, WB5ZDP with 22 Qs from 7 out of 12 grids
- There were also many other stations who we had hoped to work more often
but, couldn't find either due to QRM, their availability or our relatively
poor locations (in some cases).

Thanks to everyone else, especially the stations with 1 and 2 bands who made
a big difference in our overall score. The unseasonal good weather and
average propagation helped out a lot. The I35 scenic outlook in Arbuckle
Mountains (EM14kj) turned out to be a great location! And yes, John (W0JT/R)
and I (K0MHC/R) worked each other once; in John's final grid (EL09) on 2
meters so that we had each other's calls in our logs.

You're invited to read more about our rove and future plans here:
http://k0mhc.blogspot.com/ or just Google: "K0MHC rover". Your comments and
suggestions would be appreciated as we begin to formulate our plans for next
year. Baring poor weather and/or sickness, we both hope to be back on the
same trail again so, give a listen!

Where have all the ROVERS gone, long time ago?
Where have all the ROVERS gone?
Young men have worked them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?"
