Soapbox: I started the contest from the Burnsville overlook as W0ZQ/R, EN34is, to work K0AWU on 10gigs. EN34is to EN37ed is about 265 km. It was still 'warm' at about 35 degrees but the wind was honking and I had to hold the dish down with the car battery. I did made a few calls on 146.55 and .58 with no takers. After that I warmed up both me and the home station. It had been a long summer with few Q's due to home remodeling, but everything seemed to work despite the wind and the cold. Good signals from W0UC/9 on 902, what a great band. I worked K0AWU late in the contest on Sunday evening and he went from S3 to S-nothing. Had to resort to CW to get the "RRs".

The good news is that the rover rack is now unburied from the garage, all the equipment seems to work, and I am looking forward to the June, July and August contests.

73, Jon
