Well be mounted up and ready to emit RF by 1 PM on Saturday from Lampasas,
TX EM01xb. Please point your beams and listen for us on either 144.220 (our
running frequency) or 144.200 (the shared calling frequency). To run the
bands with you well be QSYing to 50.140, 222.1 and 432.1 MHz (be prepared
to work both of us on each band before QSYing). We'll be "limited rovers"
operating "stop-and-shoot" as we're both solo rovers. With any luck, we'll
be able to catch a few 6 meter Qs with NLRS land.
Our timeline is based on the assumption of operating at each location
approx. 45 min. and then driving to new locations (the next grid) approx. 1
hr and 15 min. (on the average).
On Saturday well be traveling north on HWY 281 from EM01 to EM02 to EM03
and then maybe EM04 (if its not too late) on our way to overnighting at
Ardmore, OK.
On Sunday morning well start out at the scenic lookout on I35 EM14ki and
then work our way south on I35 towards San Antonio activating EM13, EM12,
EM11, EM10, EL19 and then perhaps EM00 and/or EL09; all depending on how
much luck we have finding good operating sites and how late it gets. Its
likely that well run out of time, energy and/or gas before we complete this
potential route so, dont hold us to it!
Thanks to Dick K5AND, AL W5LNA, Brian N5BA, Marshall K5QE for responding to
our first post and Ron K5LLL, Tom K5TRA and Bob NX5A for helping with the
on-the-air equipment check.
Please listen for us as we wonder around STX operating and scouting for good
stopping locations. Good luck to everyone!

John W0JT/R San Antonio, TX
