I mentioned yesterday how fortunate that I have been with my two towers at my current house. I have not had any serious repairs in about 5 1/2 years after a pretty intense setup project when we first built this home.
Tonight I heard Vince (k0six) work a 3 lander on 6m so I decided to turn the beam to see if could hear the other station. --Nada, nope, not going to happen.
It appears that either my rotor is frozen with the extreme cold or that it has failed. I will continue to test it as time permits to see if it returns to life otherwise it is done till April or May when I can tilt the tower over. My climbing belt is in Green Isle and it is too darn cold to climb the tower anyway. The VHF/UHF array is pointed SE towards the general direction of Rochester from my QTH in EN25. The Twin Cities is probably somewhat workable if they are pointed back at me.
If it moves I will play on VHF/UHF otherwise it will be a HF kind of winter.
