Hello NLRS land -
Bruce, W9FZ, has his "ARRL 10 Ghz and Up Contest 2013 Results" expanded results article posted on the ARRLs contest results webpage at http://www.arrl.org/files/file/ContestResults/2013/2013%2010%20GHz%20and%20Up%20Contest%20-%20Web%20-%20Version%201_0.pdf . Check it out as its a fun read. A tip of the hat to Bruce for his work to report on activity from all across NA .
In the 10 GHz Only category NLRS members placed in eight of the top ten slots as follows: WB0LJC (1st), K0CQ (3rd), KC0P (4th), W0JT (6th), N0KP (7th), W0ZQ (8th), N0UK (9th), and K0HAC (10th). Gary, WB0LJC also had the most number of QSOs with 372.
24 GHz and up activity was more limited this year with no NLRS placing in the top ten in that catagory this year, something for us to rectify in 2014. A tip of the hat to Pete, K9PW, who has traveled with the NLRS rover pack in the past and placed 2nd in this category this year. Pete had the highest number of Q's in this category to with 298.
Bruce's expanded results article also includes some discussion about the FLWSS proposal for changes to the ARRL's 10 GHz & Up rules. Should there be separate band scores, should we add 5.7 GHz to the fray? If your not familiar with the proposal check it out and voice your thoughts.
For 2014 the rumor is that the club may be more active on the bands above 10 GHz and that Light is getting more interests. Make sure that you come to Aurora to hear more about this as well as other VHF+ fun activities.
73, Jon
W0ZQ
