I guess I never stated this explicitly before, so I will do so now:
Always start with a fresh, new, "blank" copy of the spreadsheet when
entering a new year's log. You cannot safely take a prior year's log
file, erase the old data, and enter new data in its place. I mean, it is
*POSSIBLE* to do that, but it takes a *LOT* of extra work to get it to
work correctly. The safest bet is to keep a "virgin" copy of the
spreadsheet file around and write-protect it on your hard drive, and
then copy that each year to a new file when you start to enter the log.
If anyone needs any assistance in getting their log to work properly
with my spreadsheet, please feel free to contact me.
I'll be packing for the return trip to Texas. We leave on Monday morning
October 1 and will be on the road for 2 or 3 days. This year we are
driving only 1 car, so Ann and I can take turns driving, and might be
able to make the trip in 2 long days instead of 3 shorter days, but that
remains to be determined. My hands continue to improve after having
carpal tunnel surgery on both of them 2 and 5 weeks ago, but there is
still some pain when holding a steering wheel for a long time. But I can
tell that the pain and numbness are considerably less than during the
drive up from Texas in June which was absolutely horrible.
We hope to return to Minnesota in May instead of June next year, so
maybe I'll even make it to Aurora next year.
See y'all when I can! (: Practicing my talkin' Texan... :)
