I am sad to report that Rick Gonzalez, AG0I, passed away this morning after a
20-month battle with cancer. Rick wasn't active on VHF, but probably some on
this list knew him.

Rick was originally licensed as KA0APC, and held the call AG0I for over thirty
years. He was an avid CW op and DX'er. He was found mostly on HF, but
several years ago, a few of us operated a CQ VHF contest from his home with
the call W0YC. So if W0YC is in your log on VHF, it very well could have been
Rick at the key. I knew Rick since our days in college at the U of M Radio
Club (W0YC). Rick was an electrical engineer and held his PE in Minnesota and
other states. He was also a licensed electrical contractor in Minnesota. He
resided in Arden Hills, and passed away quietly in his sleep this morning.

Rick is survived by his daughter, stepsons, sister, brother, mother, as well
as other family and friends, both in the U.S. and in his native Argentina,
which he was able to visit this spring. He is preceded in death by his
father, who was also an active ham.

The obituary will appear and both local papers, and arrangements for a
memorial service are pending.

AG0I, SK.
