I just saw this heavy duty camera tripod listed on Craig's List. For $20
and pickup in Maple Grove, it is at least worth looking at if you need
something for 10GHz or optical comms. It doesn't look any lighter-duty
than the old Ax-Man tripods. And it is about $60 less than I'd be
selling it for. :-)

Majestic Tripod and Gearhead - $20 (Maple Grove)
Date: 2012-05-14, 2:20PM CDT
We are no longer in need of our Majestic Tripods with Gearhead, so we
have several available for sale at a very low cost. This new would cost
over $500.
Overview of: Majestic 1201 Tripod Gearhead with 1-1/2" Post Mount - with
6x7" Plate
The Gearhead provides smooth movement and positive control of cameras
weighing up to 35 pounds.
The Gearhead features internal gears, rugged aluminum castings, and an
oversized, self-locking crank. The head allows 90 degrees of forward
tilt, 30 degrees of back tilt, and 15 degrees of tilt from left to
right. Both American (1/4-20") and European (3/8") camera screws are
supplied with each gearhead.
This version has a 1-1/2" tripod post connection (no screw connection),
and is supplied with a 6x7" camera quick release plate (platform).
Optional accessories include additional camera platforms and adapters
for changing the tripod mount.
Overview of Tripod
Majestic has been producing precision camera supports for more than
forty years. Traditional manufacturing techniques and hand assembly are
employed, utilizing steel, aluminum tubing and precision machined alloy
casting. All fasteners are removable with standard hand tools and, where
appropriate, lock washers are used where vibration and long wear might
loosen a part. All locking screws work against tension, ensuring that
they will not release inadvertently.
Majestic International 5000 Series tripods are offered with black
anodized aluminum legs, dark gray anodized center column, and include a
3/8"-16 camera mounting screw. The Classic 5200 Series tripods come with
a 1-1/2" (3.8cm) center post, and the 5900 Series come with a 1-7/8"
(4.76cm) center post.
All come with Quicklift ratchet drives which provide 2" of vertical
motion for each turn of the gear driven crank.
