Hello Zack
It was a big short tropo opening last night. Listen and make noise tonight as it may develop again. Wx condx are stable.
I worked ve4ma from en52 and he heard my 432 bcn S2. My current 432 BEACON antenna is pointed southwest so ve4ma heard it off the back side. He’s 649 miles from me! I’m certain you were in the opening Zack. This is another reason to remain vigilent. The monday night 432 activity net which I run at 8 PM on 432.100 discovered it. Why don’t you check in? We are now getting guys in Ohio active. You don’t need a kw and a multi yagi antenna to work 350 miles on 432. Guys with 50 watts and one yagi work me at distances of 300 miles plus all the time. The guys with similar systems work each other too.
WB0YWW, KJ0SJ both in EN22 and a guy up in Wisc worked into Colorado and Wyoming yesterday morning at 11 AM on 2 and 432.
Last night WB0YWW and KJ0SJ in EN22 worked K8JA in EN82 and W8BYA in EN70. None of them have big stations. Single yagis and 50 to 100 watts are the norm. A guy in central Ohio EN80 called me but I wasn’t listening so I missed him. I am positive I can work that guy anytime he’s on.
