2012 ARRL June VHF Contest Results for N9LB
My QTH is in south-central Wisconsin, about 100 miles NW of Chicago, 200
miles SE of Minneapolis/St Paul. Single Operator, Low Power, Unassisted,
60’ tower, single yagis, FLEX-5000A, DEMI Transverters.
Like the last two years, 6M dominated the contest. Easy 6M VUCC in a
weekend!
I made an effort to spend more time on the bands above 6M this year. I
was able to produce more contacts on 144 thru 1296. Unfortunately I
still missed many of the local gang in the 100-400 mile range, and
wasn't able to make multi-band runs with any of the NLRS stations this
time, sorry about that guys! Also, I was looking for 2M e-skip
Saturday evening, but never heard any at my QTH. 144 MHz and up
conditions from my QTH were not good.
Change from last year:
50 had 29 more QSOs, 3 more grids
144 had 1 more QSO, but grid count was down 2
222 had 1 more QSO, but grid count was down 2
432 had 3 more QSOs, but grid count was down 3
902 had 2 more QSOs, one more grid
1296 had three more QSOs, two more grids
2304 still not working, but hope to have it for the August UHF contest.
Highlights:
Working CU1CB, CU1EZ, and CU3EQ in Azores early Saturday evening. First
overseas contacts on 6M from this QTH!
