[NLRS] RF read water meters

The water department in my area (SPRWS) has informed me they intend to upgrade my water meter to one that can be read over RF via a van driving down the street.  I'm guessing there are different meters with different characteristics.  What questions do I need to ask the water department to narrow this down?

My main concern is if there will be any RFI issues.  Does anyone have any ideas how these work with my ham station at the house?  Will it interfere with me and/or do I have to worry about interfering with it?
