True, and I agree. But chances are very good he will be using this with a
50w mobile, so no hard keying available without modifying the radio to some
extent.

When the rig spikes RF and the PA RF sensed relay is slow there is a
possiblity of there being a SWR spike to shut down the most particular
rigs. And in the long run, I've found RF keying on FM or CW can lead to
burned antenna relay contacts from switching RF hot, more likely in the
160 watt amp. So even with the RF keying working, the PA benefits from
hard keying and sequencing.
