[NLRS] Off topic: Old Country Buffet gift cards- save a little money

Continuing the off-topic-ness but as a consumer advocacy "due
diligence" warning...

Buffets, Inc., the parent corporation of Old Country Buffet
(they also "own" Ryan's, more common in the South, and a few
other 'brands') has been having financial "opportunities". They
filed for bankruptcy early in 2012 and closed many locations
shortly thereafter (at least in NE Illinois...maybe they are
doing better up in 'da Nort', eh).

Here's a link to a web article from Channel 11 up there in the
Twin Cities:

Caveat emptor on buying an excessive number of the Gift Cards
but I'd hope it might be safe to buy one (as I plan to, or maybe
two). Despite having to wait until January to avail myself of
it, the value of a dinner (> $10 around here, even *better* if
it includes the beverage) as a freebie for committing $25 to a
gift card *sounds* like a good deal.

73, JK (with a still open Old Country Buffet location less than
4 miles from my home QTH here in the NW 'burbs of Chicago)

Disclaimer - Like Doug, I don't work for/have no financial
interest/monetary holding in Buffets, Inc. (unless it's buried
in my 201k, former 401k, somewhere) though I have been and would
like to continue to be a satisfied customer of theirs on
occasion. Also like Doug, perhaps MOREso, I really LIKE to SAVE
money (pronouced 'cheap polak' sp?) and don't mind sharing
bargains, and caveats about them, with others.

Miscellaneous additional disclaimers - Some assembly required.
Your mileage may vary. Batteries not included.
