I too have the maidenhead locator with the lighthouse. Compared it to my Garmin and it seems quite accurate.

Hi Dave:
I run an Apple Iphone 4S.
I've downloaded two (different) Apps that call themselves Maidenhead
when they are icons on my phone. I use the one with a "lighthouse" logo
the most to determine my current position. The second one's logo has
like a Log Periodic antenna with offset elements. This one does
"distance and bearing". Just type in the target location (either lat/lon
or maidenhead grid) and it computes bearing and distance. It defaults to
taking your current location but can easily be filled with a start
location of your choosing. I got both at the AppStore.
Now what's the name on this cool compass App you were mentioning? I need
to go get that.
Let's see what other Apps folks mention.

Hello Again After this last weekend of Microwaving I was wondering if
anyone would know of a App that we use today That one can use on the
iPhone and or iPad similar to the Palm called Grid Locator and a program
called WINGRID used on the PC. For those I am talking about a program
that you can enter in the Grid square of both ends and out comes the
bearing for both ends with Mileage. Anyone. Thanks. Working 12 days
