    Hello,

If you've been wondering what's going on with the lower
VHF bands, Wednesday is still a great night for activity, just
like it has been since June 2008.
Made a number of updates to kc9bqa.com. Visit once
or twice a week for a few minutes and you're all caught up.
I can say more on the website than I will in emails.

Last week's nets were the best in many months. Had
44 total check-ins across the two net controls. I have
those net reports up at kc9bqa.com, in an Aug. 17th post.

We have the usual net controls tonight -- K8TQK on
144.252 (yes, .252) at 0030Z or 7:30pm central, from
EM89je. Excellent long-range propagation indicator for
those of well west and northwest of Ohio. Bob starts out
looking north, then goes clockwise over the next hour.
Tends to look west about 0100 and northwest about 0110Z.

Then we have WB9LYH on 144.240 at 0100Z, or 8pm
central, from EN54cl. Big signal and loves DX check-ins.
Always looking for more activity. Mark also starts out look-
ing north and then goes clockwise a full 360 over the next
hour or so.

**NLRS members, you are more than welcome to say
hello to these nets. WB9LYH would really enjoy pushing
his propagation limits into EN37, the Dakotas, and VE-3.**

You can also track the activity via the popular and
active ON4KST.com ham chat. We use the IARU Region
2 chat for 144-432 MHz. This chat is free, no BS and now
has widespread usage every morning and evening. Check it
out. More info about the chat is available at kc9bqa.com if
you need it.

Nets don't interest you? Yep, you're not alone. :) The
main idea is to get lots of stations on from many grids and
states. The nets already increase activity. You can take it
to the next level by calling your own CQ's on Wed. night.
If everyone did this often enough, we wouldn't need nets to
ensure activity.

      Thanks, 73,
