It's still not too late to enter your contest plans into the spreadsheet
provided by Paul Husby at:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AvU0R8d2qq2DdHc0NEI0bEVUU0cyYzhhcC1jYjJMZHc#gid=0
(Sorry about the break in the middle of the URL, you may have to paste
it back together into one long line again to make it work.)
There is a page for rover stations, and another page for fixed stations.
If you can provide even a guess of your 6-digit Maidenhead grid instead
of just a 4-digit grid, it will help enormously with pointing. For
example, if you say you will be in grid EN34, then I might have to point
anywhere from zero to 360 degrees to point at you. But if you say you
will be near EN34xs, I will know that you will be somewhere to my east
at least, even if not exactly at 89.6 degrees!
I've finished the repairs to my 1296 system, but still need a quick on
the air test to make sure it is working properly. So, I should have 4
bands working on the tower (222 through 1296). The two dish bands (5.7
and 10 GHz) will probably only work with a nearby rover, since I can
only set them up in my driveway, and I live in something of a hole (near
Long Lake, Apple Valley). Although I have worked W0ZQ and W0GHZ via snow
scatter in the past. :)
Looking forward to a fun time!
